About The Room Manual

The Room Manual publishes practical, measure-first guides for people storing a lot in a small space — renters, apartment and flat dwellers, and anyone working with a laundry closet, a tiny bathroom or a shallow pantry.

Why we exist

Most “best organiser” lists skip the one thing that decides whether a product works: whether it fits. A cart that is half an inch too wide, a shelf that hits the waste pipe, an adhesive caddy on a textured tile — these are the problems we write about. Every guide starts with the space, tells you exactly what to measure, and then explains which kinds of product suit which situation.

What we cover

How we work

We write for readers in the United States and the United Kingdom, using US spelling with UK terms where they differ (closet / cupboard, cart / trolley). Our recommendations are based on published specifications, measurements, manufacturer instructions and our own analysis. When we have physically used a product, we say so and show what we did; when we have not, we say that too. Read more in How We Research & Test and our Editorial Policy.

How we make money

We earn from display advertising and from affiliate commissions when readers buy through some of our links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Commissions never decide what we recommend — see our Affiliate Disclosure.
